Books are Not My Whole Life, But They Make My Life Whole

If you love contemporary romance selections, I hope you give these ones a try. Please note that these options are for 18+ readers.

Love on a Spring Morning by Zoe York: Ryan is a widower raising three young children. That alone makes his life a struggle.  But he also is haunted by memories of his wife and what he should or could have done differently.  Then movie crews move into their small town for a bit and he meets lovely “Holly” who also happens to have another name—actress Hope Creswell.  They form a friendly (and a bit more) sort-of relationship and whether they want to admit it or not, start to have feelings for each other. But a lot of things are unsaid and revelations need to be made. Will these two make the ultimate connection?

Pressing Adalyn by Jenn Hype
:  When Adalyn is introduced, I felt like a I was meeting someone that was angry and unkind. Then as it moves further into her story, the hard edge is mixed in with a vulnerability and a relatable personality.  Ian, on the other hand,  seems like a dream.  Since I’m partial to the “Nerd/Geek” persona, I immediately felt like rooting for this character.  Their involvement with each other seems fast paced, but intense.  Many revelations are uncovered and I felt like I was involved with the characters--feeling every emotion they were feeling. The characters of Stacy, the best friend, and Carrie, Ian’s sister, add even more layers.  I read this one pretty quickly because I just couldn’t put it down.

Sweet Obsession by J. Daniels
:  The story opens with the main female character, Brooke, in a compromising position with, let’s just say, not the main male character in the story.  At first I thought, okay, is this book just going to be graphic scene after graphic scene?  We meet, Mason, who IS the male lead character in the story and he’s amazing.  He really wants to get to know Brooke and not just on a sexual level.  They connect emotionally and physically (but not all the way) thanks to some serious will power on Mason’s part.  Their love story continues to unfold and I found myself feeling all the gooey, lovey feelings I always want to feel while reading a romantic story.  Yes, this book is very graphic, but it’s a love story! And I loved it!

Adventures at the LA Zoo & Botanical Gardens

My feet are tired but my heart is happy. We had such a good time today at the LA Zoo & Botanical Gardens. Please check them out for information on conservation and protection of wildlife and endangered species.

I was super excited to see some elephants, but for today, they weren't in a super mood to come out & play. They mostly stayed in the back far reaches of their exhibits. What little I did glimpse of some of them were nice though. The giraffes were more animated today and definitely took some time to strut their stuff.  I love the way they move--reminds me of models on a runway. 😊The flamingos were also fun to see and actually super relaxing to just watch. I saw kangaroos in person for the first time and I didn't realize how super cute they are.

Seeing the zebras up close and personal made me realize how much I love them. They are spectacular.

The highlight of the day was when a mother gorilla came out in front of us with the cutest baby gorilla on its back.  These beautiful creatures don't need a baby carrier to "wear their baby". 😊

I cherish any and all moments making memories with my loves. Today, I again focus on my gratitude for them--the laughs and good times that we share. As always, I wish all light & love. XOXO
