A Book Can Be a Star

My TBR is SO long and some of the titles I've gotten to are recent and some are not. But stories are timeless and I love getting romance recommendations even if they weren't published within the past couple of years.  I enjoyed these so check them out if you can.

Queen of Klutz by Samantha Garman
: Sibby’s story is introduced to us with a bang—sort of speak when we find out she loses her job and she catches her two-year live-in boyfriend in a compromising position…well, I don’t want to give too much away. But suffice it to say, it doesn’t look like her life is going smoothly anytime soon and she seems like the kind of girl that just attracts those kinds of things to herself—even though she always means well and seemingly tries to stay out of trouble. But even a person that has bad luck has to have some good things thrown her way, right? This book has many funny & relatable situations as well as a cute romance. Sibby is too cute and as I laughed at her, I rooted for her too.

The Nanny by Lana Ferguson
: This one needs a definite warning…steamy scenes ahead, so make sure you are an adult before reading this one. I’ve heard of OnlyFans before reading this book but not too much so this story was eye opening in those details.  Cassie and Aiden definitely had their stars aligned since it seems as though every action they take somehow leads them into each others’ lives. I found Cassie to be such a kind person, having gone through the heartbreak of having bad parents and feeling never worthy of being loved. Aiden is just swoonworthy with how he tries his best to be a good Dad and how much he cares for Cassie. Their love story is far from conventional, but it’s sweet.

Her Best Friend’s Keeper by Calle J. Brookes
:  This book has many triggers for mental health—fear, grief, isolation etc. and all the feelings in between. Gabby is a witness to a horrific crime that traumatizes her especially since the victims are people she loves and cares for—a family not by blood but by bond. She reconnects with Elliot, one of the remaining members of the already mentioned victimized family. The bond and connection is there from the start but it’s all complicated but straight forward all at the same time. All those feelings are forming and ruminating all while the ones responsible for the murders are still out there possibly ready to kill again. This book had me going through all the emotions…a worthwhile journey for sure.

Anime Expo 2025, 4-Day Event

We did the panels, the Exhibition Hall, the Entertainment Hall, the #cosplay pics, the exclusive content and merch, the freebies and all the things. We did a lot in the past 4 days.

The vibe is "do you", love what you love, enjoy what you enjoy and respect others. Honestly, the kind of vibe I value.

#LosAngeles did a fabulous job hosting.😘😍 #WeLoveLA

Apothecary Diaries at Anime Expo 2025

Since this is the only #anime I can claim to be a true fan of, I felt it needed its own dedication. There were SO many #cosplays spotted during the entirety of the event and I was able to take pics with a select few as well as with some notable back drops. I loved seeing fellow fans relate to how much I enjoy this show and these characters. And the panel was just too fun (no filming is allowed). Also, I was able to snag charm plushies, coveted bags and lanyards with her image on it. I'm not much of a merch person myself, but I felt like I scored. ☺️

Universal Studios FanFest Night Was Fun

I know the theme park game can often be over-hyped and certainly over-priced. And now with "after hours" events they are providing more excuses or chances for us to spend additional money not only on another entrance fee, but also on expensive food and merchandise.

We don't typically participate in that culture...but then Universal Studios Hollywood announced FanFest Nights which included special attractions featuring Star Trek, Back to the Future, animes Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece, Dungeons and Dragons and more.

We went and had the best time! Kudos and congratulations to the Universal Studios team for putting together something just a bit different than what other after-hour events have been.

I documented a lot of our night on Instagram if you're interested in seeing those pictures as well as the stories in my 2025 highlight.

Definitely find the joys in your life and embrace them. 😘
