The Sheriff Catches A Bride by Cora Seton
I thought this was a beautiful story of finding one's true self, independence & authentic true love. Cab is in love with Rose, but she's engaged to Jason. Right away, one would probably label Jason some kind of villain, completely not right for Rose. And maybe the reader would be right, but also, maybe there's more to the story than just a clear hero versus villain or good buy versus bad guy. I found myself feeling one way one minute & then reflecting about circumstances and human nature the next. Plus there's a side story of terror & escape that kept me on my toes--not knowing how it would all pan out. Great story!
Getting Worked Up by Erin Nicholas
This is a sequel in the Sapphire Falls series that focuses on Phoebe and Joe. Phoebe wants to get together with her best friend Matt, who has not fallen in love with Nadia. Joe is a new comer to the sleepy town of Sapphire Falls & his main reason for coming is to win back his friend Nadia. So, essentially, it's a "love square" story. Phoebe & Joe decide to join forces for the ultimate goal of winning Matt for Phoebe and Nadia for Joe. Of course, the process of achieving that goal means spending lots of time together & bonding...yeah...so that's a fun story...Read this one, it's cute, romantic & sexy.
Patriotic Duty by C.J. Pinard
Cara is a single mother of a toddler, divorced from her cheating ex. So, she has some fun going out to clubs, drinking & partying with her friend Adrienne. Overall though, she’s a responsible mother & doesn’t introduce her son to her casual dates. She meets a soldier named Riley & starts to bond with him mentally & physically. As a reader, it was hard for me to figure out if she was making the right choices and I wasn’t sure what to really feel about Riley. There’s a turning point in their relationship & things change….But everything falls into place & Cara ends up where she’s suppose to be. This book is dedicated to the U.S. troops and proceeds go the Wounded Warrior Project which is a big bonus.
The best kind of thing to be looking forward to. |
