Welcome to my universe! I have so much to share with you: reviews, causes, personal experiences etc. I want to shine a light on the positive things in life, encourage kindness & praise good works, remaining hopeful that a better tomorrow is always within our reach. My heart belongs to my devoted loving husband & our exceptional 2 sons who, I believe, make this world a better place with their strong minds & tender hearts. They are my inspiration. I write to express not to impress.

It's a soft, pillowy ball of dough that's sweet enough to want "just one more" without being overpowering. It's delicious! Music inspires. When the stars of Broadway united to record "What the World Needs Now is Love" I felt so proud of them. That's what it means to use your gifts for good. It's a beautiful song--simple & strong. This terrible cycle of violence must end...Love. Must. Prevail. Lyrics:
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone
Lord we don't need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides
Enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers
Enough to cross. enough to last
'Till the end of time
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone
Lord we don't need another meadow
There are corn fields and wheat fields
Enough to grow
There are sun beams and moon beams
Enough to shine
Oh listen Lord if you want to know
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now...
What time is it? Time to laugh!!! Hardly anything is better than experiencing the best kinds of laughter.
Recently, we introduced the 80's classic "Goonies" to our boys. I haven't seen the movie in years so it was nostalgic for the husband & I. I found myself pretty much cracking up at my favorite parts alongside my boys who have taken to the movie. One of my favorite scenes was Chunk's "confession" when he was captured by the villains. The order was, "Tell us everything." So, Chunk proceeds to do as commanded. LOL!
And now for some of my recent favorite funny memes:
I can't seem to help myself, I have a real weakness for punny humor!
How true is this? Very, I say.
I feel this kind of deep connection to my "butter" half.
It maintains it's sexiness while still remaining tasteful.
C'mon, who hasn't done this at least once?
Oh no!! Seriously, those things need to be in a securely locked safe!
Are you the type of person that always feels like every "no" needs to be explained and justified ad nauseam? And as a result, feel the obligation to just say "yes" even if you don't want to do something? Most everyone feels obligated to family & friends to always give of themselves, but it can also happen at work, school, even strangers asking/demanding something of you. Well, let me submit this thought, it's okay to say "no". It just is.
Here's "10 Things You Don't Owe Anyone":
1.You don't owe anyone justification for your priorities.
2.You don't owe anyone a "yes" when you want to say "no".
3.You don't owe anyone an explanation for why you love someone.
4.You don't owe anyone a debate.
5.You don't owe anyone the meaning of what you believe in.
6.You don't owe anyone a change in your appearance.
7.You don't owe anyone friendship if it's not mutual.
8.You don't owe anyone gossip material just to fit in. (I love this one!)
9.You don't owe anyone an answer that isn't the truth.
10.You don't owe anyone anything that goes against gut instinct.
Read Letting Yourself Say No, offering some valuable insight and advice on "saying 'no' with intention, & meaning it".
When it comes to toxic people or "soul suckers" as the article refers to, respect yourself enough to walk away.
Respect yourself enough to say no.
If you don't truly enjoy something, just stop!
Be true to yourself & mean it!
Don't live a life half-hearted.
Love this! Be the boss of your own happiness!
How to win at life!
I thought this was pretty powerful.
I think saying "no" and really meaning it without guilt or second-guessing is a life-long skill. I know that I'm still constantly working on it, but I'll be thinking of these valuable suggestions & hints when I start to doubt myself. I hope you do too. ☺ XO
There have been so many tragic events happening in the news lately. As I re-read that sentence, I'm saddened to realize that it's a statement that can be relevant no matter when it's said. Since I consider it a personal mission to focus on the positive instead of dwelling on the negative, I want to share a touching video featuring renowned wildlife conservationist Jane Goodall releasing a chimp into the wild. The poignant moment in the footage is when the chimpanzee, who's about to be released into the wild, appears to give Ms. Goodall a "thank you" hug. For me, it shows that these animals are not so different from us humans. They respond to kindness with a thankful heart.
There are still so many wonderful, positive and hopeful things for us to hold on to out there. Let's keep on caring for the world and the life that resides in it.
Let's continue to focus on being good to each other, holding ourselves accountable for our own behavior.
And for those that feel anxiety, maybe these tricks will help:
