Never Too Much Manatee!

The gentle & beautiful Manatee are thriving & seemingly increasing in numbers. But they still face many dangers to their population.  Conservation and constant awareness of these endangered creatures is still an every day issue. The good news is there are some positive stories of Manatee survival.  Here's one heartwarming story of Annie and her calf and the heroic efforts that helped save them both.

Manatee Artwork
My 10-year-old was assigned "Recycled Art" as a project for the school Art Fair.  He lovingly decided to create a tribute to his beloved Stuffed Animal "Puffy".

The materials consisted of Ben & Jerry's containers (they're an environmentally conscious company so I'm sure they'll be glad to know at least two of their containers will never reach a landfill), toilet paper rolls, cardboard, foam, plastic bags, watch batteries (for the eyes) and aluminum foil.
Starting to look like an airplane.
Awww, Puffy's "brother" is starting to take shape!
The eyes are the windows to the soul. ☺
Welcome to the world, Puffy Foil!!!
We love Manatees! And if there ever was some magic than can turn "toys" to living things (like Toy Story), I'm pretty sure Puffy would let everyone know how thankful he is for all the love he receives every day. ♥

Appreciate wildlife! Save all endangered animals! Stop extinction. SAVE THE MANATEE! ♥♥♥♥
