My excited family...from our smiling faces, you can't even tell we left the house at 4am! ZZZZ ☺ |

Our second day (5th and last for the Event) at
Comic Con 2015 and we were at it again! Up at before the crack of dawn,
arriving at growing crowds…we weren’t novices anymore, we knew the score. We
found our way to the back of the massive line (which moves very quickly once the
doors open) just to get into another line for the Exhibit Hall. This time, the
guys were on a mission to get the Skylanders exclusive.
Here they are as happy as clams with their Skylanders exclusives! |
The rest of our last day was spent attending a couple of
panels. One panel actually showed a world premiere of a Lego Batman movie! My
youngest was beyond excited and I couldn’t believe they were actually going to
show the whole movie. It was cute too. Afterwards, the voices in the film
(including the voice of Cyborg—one of the boys’ favorites) took over the panel
to talk about their experiences and answer audience questions.
But we had to rush off to our next panel—the guys’
(including the big guy-Daddy's) favorite Lego original cartoon “Ninjago”.
A very informative Lego Ninjago panel. |
This was a fun panel consisting of the masterminds for the
show—the creators, the writers, the toy makers, the marketing team—all
enthusiastic and inspiring. The main
writers for the show are brothers so the boys (who are much a team themselves)
thought that was pretty great. The guys
were able to ask some behind the scenes questions from the panel & I
believe they got some inside information they treasured having. Really,
overall, a fabulous experience for all of
us.
Here is footage of the Lego Ninjago panel that we attended. My favorite part is at 39:45, when the Husby asks a question. Love my Geeky man! ♥

One important note I wanted to make to bring down the mood, however, is to criticize the Event goers who decided that the sidewalk & grassy areas are their own personal trash cans. I mean, really? Like you can’t find the a trash can within a few feet away? This is our world, folks! Even if you don’t live in San Diego, you live on the same planet, the same ecology. It’s disgusting!! If anything else, just throw your own freakin’ trash away! *Breathe* Okay…I’ve said my peace. End rant.

Making memories with these guys is worth every sting of my very tired feet. |
Comic Con was everything I expected it to be & more. We had such an amazing time as a family &
will carry the memories we’ve made forever. What a unique experience—geeks,
nerds, weirdos—all welcome & celebrated.
