Here's some Contemporary Reading Suggestions

 30 Days (Series Book 1) by K. Larson 

The story goes back and forth from past to present taking readers on the tough journey of Elle's life dealing with an emotionally and physically abusive husband.  Barefoot in White (Barefoot Bay Brides Book 1) by Roxanne St. Claire
